white steelies on my Echo
Hey all, decided it was time to replace my old rusty black steelies with a new set (can't justify alloys on a 12 year old Echo). Sprayed them with a few coats of white Rustoleum before mounting. I know it won't be everyone's cup of tea, but i was looking for something different on a budget, and like the look. Cheers :)

My 09 Yaris is polar white. Once I switch to alloy wheels from steelies and later bought snow tires for the steelies I changed colors to safety orange. I may get some looks going up to snow country, but they'll find me if I roll it into a snow bank. Some day I'll post a pick.

Alloy wheels = more expense = easier to dammage=more expense to replace if dammaged=high risk of theft compared to steelies=something else to worry about=if wider need wider tire so more expense=better use locking nuts to prevent theft=lose the key for the locking nut and youre AFU on a cold and rainy night with a flat tire=
NO THANKS!

haters gonna hate right? who cares. I live in an area dominated by lifted pickups with the same old black wheels. It's good to be different!

Thanks I try! Not paranoid...just my way of looking at it. True too as far as it goes. Not that there aren't other equally valid opinions.

Looks good. Any important prep you did before spraying them with Rustoleum?

The wheels themselves were brand new steelies with the basic black paint, so just made sure the surface was clean and dry. Rustoleum will pretty much adhere well to any metal, as long as it is smooth and clean.
For older rusted wheels, you would need to wire brush and clean them first. I had it easy with brand new wheels. |
