The wheels themselves were brand new steelies with the basic black paint, so just made sure the surface was clean and dry. Rustoleum will pretty much adhere well to any metal, as long as it is smooth and clean.
For older rusted wheels, you would need to wire brush and clean them first. I had it easy with brand new wheels. |
