You can port match the intake manifold to the 1zz TB. Thats was done to the one i got.

And i also have the Tooter spacer. I can tell you with the Spacer/Manifold port matched to the 1zz TB and AFE intake, i have no oscillations and high rpm at cold start promptly drops to operating idle rpm quickly.

True and all good points. However the 1NZ entire intake is designed and sized for a smaller flow. Port matching the hole for the TB does help, just not getting the full flow of a 1ZZ intake and a proper port/polish. Much better improvements with a proper intake manifold. Also if you go bigger going in then you should replace the header and exhaust line. Me it's a custom fitted 1ZZ intake manifold, 1ZZ TB and custom made aluminum air intake. My car is in storage during winter months so this year the motor comes out for piston replacement, port/polish, 8lbs flywheel, A/F management, etc....

By the way, with just the 1ZZ TB not port matched at all and the stock air box, I got oscillation for five minutes the first day then that was it.
