CT how does one check these fusible links? Can one do visual? OR does one use an ohm meter?

For the alternator one, measuring the voltage on the large wire that connects to the alternator (with the grey plastic cover over the nut). With the engine off you should see battery voltage on that wire. If you do not, then the fusible link between the battery and alternator is blown and the alternator's output will not feed to the battery with the engine running.
