Not sure what the dealers would use, but most aftermarket immobilizers just have a pair of fuses inline to the unit. Probably under the driver's side dash, above the pedals. And yeah, aftermarket electronics are the first place to be looking for draws. Aftermarket alarms, amps, stereos etc are much more likely to draw than OE stuff. As mentioned, using a meter to diagnose is faster.
