►►►Custom 2" Catback - What next? Please help
Well, last weekend I changed all the pipeline.
I deleted the 2 catalytics, and only conserve the resonator. I replaced it whit a custom 2" catback, it's direct from the headers to the muffler. Now the car has: • CAI with AEM filter. • DC Sports headers. • Custom 2" catback. • Magnaflow 14805 muffler. So... What else you recommend me? I was thinking in the Nology hot wire, but I have only read bad reviews about them. Other option is start to invest in handling performance like springs and bars.

did you feel any difference with the custom exhaust?
and did you think about a lightweight crankpulley or 1zz throttlebody? |

i'd recommend installing a catalytic converter. first, so your car doesn't smell like old wet turd. second, because it's a FEDERAL offence to not have one on public streets. if some drunk slams in to you and rolls your car, the officer might notice the missing smog devices. just because you may live somewhere emissions tests are not conducted, it's still federal law to have one. a $10,000 fine and jail time may result. third, a high flow catalyst will only effect performance about 1/2 horsepower, but will create that much needed 1 psi back pressure.
this is just a friendly warning. do what you want with your car. it's yours. i'd recommend: porting intake manifold and installing 1zz throttle body; rear sway bar; lightweight wheels; lightweight clutch/flywheel; suspention |

I'm with thebarber on both points.
Get yourself a lightweight pulley next. (Or an entire set if you wanna go all out) It will really frees up some torque, but will make the car a bit jerky, as the engine will be more responsive. And yes, definitly put a high-performance catalytic converter on, so it doesn't reduce performance, but still conforms to regulations.

I think you should ditch the aem filter and get a Apex'i world filter and convert to a short ram.
DC header is good You should have gone with a larger diameter pipe for the exhaust. You should have felt a noticeable gain from removing the cats. The stock exhaust is really restrictive. Suspension and brake upgrades are always a good choice. |

All comments talk about pulleys, I think that will be the next step. Quote:

I had a 2&1/2" custom stainless catback made from the second back straight to the muffler deleted the resonator and it came out pretty decent. I also have installed the Whiteline rear swaybar, tein coilovers, UR rear upper brace, and megan racing c pillar bar (useless I know It's just for looks lol)
I'm definitely impressed with how my car performs and I'm excited to throw on the 1zz throttle body I've had sitting in my closet for a year and a half lol https://vimeo.com/199680794 Sent from my SM-G920T using Tapatalk

I decided to take the advice of a reputable and very good exhaust shop against the advice of some of the experienced YW members and I lost noticable torque. Had the shop re make a 2.25" and most of the torque came back and still has the increased top end. That was with all the flow mods -dc header, MI intake manifold, intake, 1zz TB.
