Thanks everyone for weighing in. I do not have an owner's manual with this car. I was told it was AWD when I bought it, not sure what I feel about that since I obviously had mixed feelings about it.

I find that on some days this Yaris has much higher fuel consumption than my last Yaris, a 2006 (sometimes twice as much?) and I was told by a coworker that it might be due to AWD, but maybe just cold icy conditions itself is playing havoc with my consumption? Who knows. I'm a very very conservative driver BTW.
