The ATF pan on my 2010 already has two magnets in it. I imagine it is the same for the 08. Also the filter is more like a screen. I replaced my filter at the time, but i won't waste my money on that again.

No need for additional magnets. There are already 2 in the pan.

If you have the money and get a charge out of that kind of thing Why not change the trans oil and filter?

Is it really necessary? Probably not. Have I ever done it? No!

Now manual transmission oil I change that every 30,000 miles. Usually just like two or 3 quarts of that stuff. Automatic transmission oil there’s usually something like 8 quarts.

You pretty much answered your own question Bronsin. I don't get a charge out of doing repairs on my car. Plus a new OEM filter on Amazon is $64. I'll just keep doing a double drain and refills every 35,000 Miles. I'm at 215,000 and the thing runs great.

For what it's worth, I did not change the ATF the first time until around 140,000 miles when I noticed some rough shifting during acceleration on the freeway. Changing the fluid and filter took care of that.....Amazing.
