HAHA...dont street race kids. (im a kid though..im 20)
i was thinking the same thing when i read the first page..im kinda sad caught that one before i did.. Yaris, Fit, Versa, theyre all economy cars, you guys shouldnt expect to blow the doors off anything, except, people on bicycles...nice kill These cars are built with one purpose in mind, economy (well initially, anyway). |

Tis the previous model, but it's nice to see some inspiration. There is also a Touge Battle in one of my Best Motoring videos with a blue Yaris/Vitz built by Yashio Factory. Pretty impressive.

the cars start off slow, but since they are lightweight economy machines, they can be built..
like the Yashio Factory car or the spoon Fit. kinda like the old civic hb's they started out slow, but look at them now, even though some are ricey. |

It is 106 horsepower. What do you expect? On the plus side its also light as hell, so those power adds you do are going to be worth your while. Just get the thing going fast around a turn, contact your local autocross club, and go lay to waste on some cars that cost twice as much as your little Yaris. They would have never seen it coming.

Yup, it's slow alright. Comfy slow, they're times where I'll hit 60 in a 35 mile zone and not realize it. Gotta catch myself....

I really dont understand the whole double clutch on a cars that can run 8000+rpm easy? If you shift that slow you probably just hit your 80th birthday.
I know the redline on the yaris is like 6000? 7000? I think everyones watched a little too much F&F. Double clutch on a domestic big displacement where they top out at 5500 - 6000rpm. If you tell someone you run 16 in the quater cause you double clutched... maybe im just missing the sarcasm? then again maybe not. |

Semis and construction trucks still have to be double clutched, at least that's what it sounds like to me when the start from a stop. But as you can see, the Yaris is hardly a Semi or dumptruck. Rev matching on the other hand, is a pretty good idea when downshifting, especially just before a turn or going into a turn, to lessen/eliminate torque steer to prevent any sudden jerk of the wheel.
