iPod adapter questions
I just got an Ipod this weekend and can listen to it fine through the AUX port. My questions are what is different between the standard AUX port and the optional iPod specific port you can get through Toyota? Does it charge the iPod as well or bring text and/or track changing ability to the OEM head unit?
Thanks. Ashley |

I am pretty sure that it does both. It will charge your IPOD and also give you control through the head unit. Since the adapter is for the bottom port and not through the headphone jack, I would assume it would charge it as well. I have a pioneer unit with the optional IPOD hook up and its awesome having your controls through the headunit and not having to use the thumb wheel...
**update** http://www.logjamelectronics.com/blitztoymlink1v2.html here is a link..... and yes it does charge it.

the aux port is just that a port. it lets you listen to the ipod on your system nothing else. the ipod adapter setup lets you control most of your ipod using the head unit. usually you store the ipod in your glovebox. the only thing is some of those ipod control adapters arent up to date and wont work with the newer software versions of itunes. so if possible check to make sure before buying otherwise you might have to retro the itunes software
