Pretty good showing.

Compared to many of the mediocre reviews so far. This is good to see.

Maybe there's hope yet for the new Yaris.

The brand new Versa is crap, it turns out. That's what happens when you build a car to start at $10,995.

Weird article for sure. I find it interesting how they found what they did to complain about it which is different than what other reviews have said that I have seen.

I honestly have to say that I'd never have guessed that this sentence could be used in a review about the Yaris: "Inexpensive cars don’t have to be boring." The previous Yaris always seemed to be the expensive and boring one in comparison tests.

I thought the new Rio would fare better in such reviews. It seems like a strong contender in the class. I'm not really surprised that the Fit won. Sorry to say, but it always seems to have done the mini-MPV thing a bit better than the Yaris. It also seems that the Sonic reached second place purely because the Aveo that it replaces was such a sh**** car.

Of those I'd rank it first.The Fit looks like what that little old lady in the Sylvester and Tweety cartoons who whacks Sylvester the cat over the head with a broom would drive.The Chevy will spend more time in the shop than on the road.Wonder why they didn't include the Ford Fiesta?

only 91 octane? how much needs second generation yaris in the rest of the world, excepting europe with 95 octane?

If Toyota would Turbo the Yaris here in the U.S. it would kill everything in its class! Great article to read!

The Europeans use a slightly different octane rating system then what we do in North America. There is a 4 point difference. 87 octane here is equal to 91 octane there.

Yeah, but Car and Driver is an American magazine and they did the road test in America. So I'm guessing they used American gas with American octane ratings?

Kal-El where did you get the data on GM being very reliable?According to the last CR auto issue they ranked next to last just ahead of Chrysler for dependability.

Here's J.D. Powers 2011 chart. Chevy ranked average here, which can be considered very reliable since the average car is indeed very well built these days. Notice Buick and Cadillac rank above average. Good brands like Nissan, Mazda, & Scion have more problems than GM.
