Hi D, I was looking over the image when you sound deadened your doors, did you keep the plastic cover that was initially on there? I was going to install new speakers and eventually deaden the doors - should I keep the plastic covering?

It's a moisture barrier. (like a transparent plastic bag) The treatment on the doors is on 3 sides, inside of the door (outer skin) then the inner part (that holds the panel) and the Panel it self. I check once in a while for water and every thing looks good. D.

. I'll be installing my speakers, along with my auto locks/windows at the same time. I'll have to hold off on removing the plastic for good until I get the proper material. Thank you for your quick reply!

i6SW hold on tight! here it comes a 14 Years old 10" solo-baric!
I know this is not apples to apples, but I feel the need to compare and experiment. so here is my test box! (it's snowing any way lol) - Same power and source - Box is twice as big or about the same as (2)i6SW that I'm going to try later on. - 10" sealed box against 6.5" vented box - 14 years of technology Tomorrow is the big test. ![]() D.

D,
You know if you we're out here we'd work the 3055 and get you set up... I'm interested to hear your impression on the solo...the old rounds are some of my favorites. Gotta round off those edges...have a table router?

If I didn't have the compressor and the tank in the trunk along with the amps, I'd work another Solo D 15"...
You know...I might have to think about this for a little bit. Those Solo D 15s only need a cube and a half...no no...It's better if I don't. I still have that ML3800 sitting up in the spare bedroom that I have the custom trunk enclosure for. If I want a 15" woofer, I've got an amazing one already. Sorry, fleeting moment of weakness for the old solos.

i6SW against Solo-Baric 10D - Power was 400 watts RMS
Enclosure i6SW wins, it's almost half of the Solo-10 (.35cf vrs .66cuf) In Car SPL goes for the Solo-10, Yes the bigger the better, but my ears hurt and honestly I just couldn't listen for my 3 hours commute and enjoy my music the way I do with the i6SW, in other words the Solo-10 for me is overwhelming Tonal balance: if the volume is from Low - Moderate - to High... the i6SW it's my favorite, now if I cranck it all the way up to MAX VOLUMEN... the Solo-10 WINS. (max volume is 2 or 3 clicks before distortion) Low frequency extension At low-Moderate volume the i6SW takes the lead, At Max Volume the Solo-10 wins Clarity at high volume (high volume not max volume) the i6SW takes the lead. Clarity at low volume, there is some thing magical about the i6SW that makes me smile. Impact - Both are good Overall sound quality - 2 thumbs up for the i6SW! I don't know what it is, maybe because it fires forward deep into the fire wall, but the big difference is the i6SW hits my chest, and the Solo-10 hits my ears and my head. I have a little cold and stuffy nose, so maybe that explains the ears, but I'll keep the Solo for a couple more commuting days and then report back, but ... If Had to buy one between these 2, I wouldn't think twice... the i6SW is the ONE! Next step!... lets plan on doing a second box for a second i6SW and see/feel/hear what happens! The never ending story! D.

This is nice because you've identified your tastes for low end.
Ultimately when the I6SW is given a bunch of power, it will break up. I know the weaknesses of the Imagine sub line. I've removed myself from Team Hybrids due to some interesting circumstances in the team...I'd love to be able to speak more about the Legatia woofer coming out...but I just don't care enough about the brand anymore to give much of a crap. I digress...That being said, you get something when you get that break up on the power and you illustrated the plusses. What you gain from a smaller "bore" woofer in a smaller enclosure, even vented, is the punch where the mid bass and the sub bass come together versus the bigger subwoofer hitting lower. The thing with this is, more of the natural music's bass is at the region you're enjoying. A couple questions, what music were you referencing? Would you like some suggestions for reference material to listen to the woofer and the enclosure response?

It all comes around to the fact that one of the team management is good friends with this person. Team management actively attempts to stiffle any dissenting opinion and they refuse to let their regular team members know about the risk of investing with TOC. We're talking the risk of losing $300 to join and $75 to $150 every show... That is why I've removed myself from competitive car audio...Because of the lack of proper ethics. I have a few other very costly reasons as well, but that is between me and the team. Needless to say, the team "help" cost me a world championship (literally) after said "help" blew up my processor the night before finals. I still managed to eek out a 4th place with a dead processor and a limping P-01 (because of the processor's "explosion")... In the mean time, I have a fun hobby that has taken the competitive car audio space. Just last night I re-tooled my garage to include a new work bench that has an RCBS Rockchucker reloading setup on it now. All I need is a case tumbler and I'm set. I'll be handloading .38/.357, .40 S&W, .303 British and 30-06 rounds. My first gun show, as a reloader, is on the 5th-6th. I'm also taking the Oregon and Utah concealed weapons safety class on the 14th... ![]() This is my primary now. I have a facility not 10 minutes away from my house by the name of Threat Dynamics. It's run by two fellows who served with me in Iraq and are fellow infantrymen. They have a really cool setup to run simunition scenarios through. IIRC, it has up to 5 screens and they use a stun belt on you for immersion into the scenarios they have. As for what speakers I'll be using? I'm still running the Legatia SE set but am open to selling it off at basically dealer cost. I'm looking at another mid grade three way that I can whip into shape. Until I get rid of the HAT SE stuff, I won't name it...needless to say, it'd suprise most.
