over the weekend we swapped a sedan cluster out for one with lesser mileage.(42k to 13k). swap was simple plug n play and new cluster worked like it was brand new. NO need to re-program or worry about old mileage staying with new cluster.

Wait a minute... I am so confused.
1. Rockland - I thought everyone said that sedan clusters don't fit liftbacks. 2. Gideon - you swapped out the clusters and you're saying that not only are they completely plug and play - but your mileage remained intact??

How much did you end up paying for the cluster, if I may ask.

The combo meter gets its tach input on the 24 pin connector at pin 16 (light blue wire). As long as that wire is present, the tach should work.

I stand corrected on the Tach input - The service manual says that the combo meter gets it directly from the ECM over CAN. In that case, it really should be plug and play...
