It's quite bad here in Ontario. Tons of salt in the winter and the humidity is much higher than the western provinces. I only wish they'd come up with something other than salt for the roads in the winter. I know there are alternatives, but I'm not sure how good they are and what the cost is...

As for BC, I heard that by the coast it's bad due to the salty air from the ocean, but that could have been a mistake, not sure.

Rust proofing on a brand new car can be great depending on where you live, as people have said. Beware of trying to add it later (period of years I mean)though because adding the undercoat on top of improperly treated surface, for example dirty, oily or rusted, will make it not adhere well and the rust can get worse. Vervepipes= Seen it happen

on a down side... the yaris does not have any paint under... just a thin primer. I'm sure i did not go wrong with a great layer of undercoating.

yeah but that's only the wheel wells. the whole under car needs some protection... beside the primer...
