I've just gotten used to the Shifting I guess. It would be nice if the actual indicator on the Shifter was a brighter color, (AND NOT PUKE GREEN)... here I come Blue LEDs!

I kinda agree with the green knobs.
Regarding the storage bins I don't see a problem, perhaps maybe there is no "designated" documents storage (you know, somewhere with a clip to attach the car's insurance and registration).
Since I drive a manual HB, the lack of ilumination on the stick doesn't really7 bothers me. To the ones who it does bothers, you might try to use a bright white led lighting the stick area, kinda like a mini light...

You don't think we realize this?

Even my sister's el cheapo accent has gear indicators next to the speedometer.

No whining. Just stating a fact about my sister's Accent (btw it has a tach too). Test drive was during the day where I don't have any problem seeing what gear I'm on so the gear indicators didn't even come into mind.

You bought a Yaris and not an Accent....sorry but I have a hard time taking the complaints from someone who does TWO tint jobs as legitimate, you obviously need help making choices and standing behind them. END THREAD FOR ME

What do you mean by "TWO tint jobs as legitimate..."? First off, I am a first time car owner. I didn't know anything about tint jobs (should have done a little research, but that's my fault) and I did file a complaint against those jerks with the BBB and Nevada attorney general. I really like my Yaris. The gear indicator thing is just a minor annoyance. Oh and no one asked you to take complaints from anyone. Sounds like YOU have a problem.

I have underdash neons so seeing the shifter is not much of a problem.
However before I installed the neon I was thinking about installing a couple LEDs next to the shifter.
OR
installing micro switches that lit up an led when the car was in gear

If you could insert a small led in the hand brake lever, it would illuminate that area nicely. Maybe drill an LED size hole under the hand brake lever, near the release button. The only problem is how to wire it to yor lights.

A friend of mine has a 1978 VW Beetle and it has an led that swivels from the dash to shine onto the shifter. I have been looking through his magazines for a replacement so that I can install it on my car. Mainly cause i don't want it to remain stationanry when it can be put to better use once in motion. has anyone taken the panel with the nobs off to see what bulbs are used and any pics???

The automatic LB has LED's in there? I didn't notice. If they really are there, they're either not working or very, very dim.

They are very very dim, and I dont believe it actually Illuminates the shifter itself, just the Gear Indicators (Park, R, N, D-3rd, 2nd L)

Hide stuff in those compartments and maybe you will forget about them. In a few years you may find them again and think treasure... or something.
