I'm not trying to shoot your hopes and dreams down homie, give it a shot. You'll definitely learn something, but you don't wanna pop your hood and show everyone your ugly betty! You want pretty betty! Finish your intake, I want to see it when its done.
EDIT: Actually, now that I look at it that green monster is literally the same thing as the first design we came up with. We just decided to put the 2-3" coupler further down the line. Yours uses less couplers, but the pressure loss coming to the throttle body is murdering your low end. At the high end (and I'm talking really high) your intake would outperform mine the slightest bit though assuming the ECU ran within parameters. |

im also i can run rich by choice so i have the gas up high on the low rpm and the gas "lower" on the high rpm and it works great
Edit i dont like running rich so i do plan on doing this for long just till i fine the right intake i want

Lets stop and look for a minute KSI..
First off the hacked parts Chino made his tester with, were already the correct inside diameter piping... If you chop and save you green 3" parts, you will then have to step each side down to smaller piping.. so far that's 2 couplers for each piece you save (one on each side, 3" to X"). Still with me? So what makes you think by keeping the overly large parts that hurt the setup in the first place, that its going to be any better once mated to smaller piping? Not to mention all the different sizes your intake track will be, starting at the filter all the way to the TB. By a Chino intake and sleep well at night. |
