pros

interior space, trunk capacity, head unit (speakers decent), seats are better than any other car i've been in (except racing seats), shifter's good, gas mileage it great, price at the pumps...

cons

tossed around easily on the freeway, kinda underpowered, little on the high ride height side, no ABS (never had any problems, and my GTI had ABS and had more problems with that than my Yaris with braking).

I could have got the hunchback or sedan, I went with the sedan for personal taste reasons, mainly because:

#1. the HB's headlights are peeling too far back towards the windshield. The Prius is also guilty of this. It's a bad look, Toyota, get rid of it before it spreads to your other cars.

#2. I didn't like the back end of the HB being at almost a 90 degree angle to the street, its just too abrupt of a cut off. When I think of "hatchback" I think of the VW Sciroccos' style with a low angle slope.

I think if the front end/headlights of the HB was identical to the Sedan, than I might have went with the HB and lived with issue #2.

I've never had ABS so I don't feel naked without it. I understand that the sedans also have a tachometer, which if you drive stick is nice, but not absolutley neccessary.

I'm not kidding, theres a lever on the left side of the driver's seat that tilts up the driver's seat. I can take a pic of it after work if you like. It's actually the first thing my salesman showed me before getting into the car.

So please tell me your likes and dislikes?

How is the gas milege?
What do I like?
I have a silver 4 door (not the S) w/ the power package with 15in steel wheels.

1. Space, the interior is large and comfortable, the trunk is HUGE
2. Mileage, I average 34mpg
3. Ride, the coupe is stable and fairly quiet on the road
4. Looks, I prefer the 4 doors looks.
5. Features, I have power locks and windows, ABS, and Cruise control

I love this car..

i almost got kill on a Corolla without ABS last year, so ABS IS A MUST for me. I look at the LB and i think that thing will kill me right away if i got hit by SUV or a Truck. I feel more secure in Sedan. But LB got an awesome look from the side, but front and back.....negative.

Yaris S/auto/Flint Mica. Very nice car. Love the ABS for security but do wish I had the side curtain. Also love how this budget car is very quiet and has a b/b- sound system. Not bad for an inexpensive car. Fog lights are more for show, don't really add much light to the road.

I have a flint mica S sedan with no wing, steel wheels (that I replaced with heliums), manual transmission, cruise control, ABS, power package, and upgraded trim. I paid 15900 after taxes.

I've never gotten below 42 mpg.

I concur with most that's been said. I bought the sedan 'cause I think it's better looking than the LB. Personally I think the LB is a bit generic looking, but what the hell.

My favorite thing is cruise with the manual tyranny -- nice and smooth, with no gear changes on account of an automatic.

Yes, it has a seat hight adjustment -- I keep mine on the lowest setting and I'm 5'10"

Seats are supportive and comfortable. Mp3 deck and speakers sound just fine. Plenty loud for road conditions.

Interior is a bit wonky. cubby holes and cup holders are sufficient, tho not terribly well thought out.

Road noise is higher than say a Corolla. Corolla's seem better made IMHO.

But that Yaris is well made for what you're paying. Tho, I have developed a rattle under the speedometer somewhere. *shrugs*

The engine is quiet and responsive. It has plenty of power. I don't understand that criticism. I can often accidentally end up doing 65 if I don't use cruise. Just 10 years ago, 106 Hp for a 1.5L would have been unheard of. It will easily pull up a good hill in 5th gear at highway speeds. It ain't no hot rod, but it easily beats all the other 4 cylinders I've driven over the years for noise, power, and responsiveness.

Clutch takes time to get used to -- like any clutch, but it's smooth and quite operable.

Lots of space. More than the Corolla.

There is one blind spot that ain't so hot -- right at the windshield pillar -- it's too wide. That's bad if you do a lot of curvy country roads like I do, where it pays to see the other lane around 90 degree turns.

Yes it blows around on the road. Get the NF210's and that will go away -- and the car looks lots better. It's a good 160 buck investment.

EATS BUGS! That big flat front end sucks em up like a mofo. I have a dark color so it doesn't matter that much, but my friend got silver and it always looks like the car has a bra of gnats on the front end -- no kidding, it's freakish how much that flat nose will collect.

There you go, the good, the bad, and the ugly I can think of at the moment.

Best car I've owned.

NF210 Tanabe springs. Drops the car 1.5 inches -- more than you might think, but you won't need new struts. The DF210 drop the car 2 inches-- which you may need new struts. I got mine from iptuned on Ebay. I know we're supposed to support the forum venders, but the guy did good for me.

Tires? I have Toyo Spectrums. I also recommend those at 35 bucks a pop. Or the Toyo Proxies for a higher price. They're cheap, with high mileage guarantee, and they don't hydroplane. The Goodyear Eagles that come with the car are garbage IMHO. Ever since I got some Toyo's (with a different car) I'm sold on the quality and life of those tires.

I got a 09 yaris sedan too. I like the outlook of it...and the shortening in car length make it looks great. I have a problem of rattle noise and it happen just a week after I got the car. Now I am waiting my dealer to fix.

I think sedan is actually look better than yaris's hatchback

2009 Yaris Base Hatch with Automatic, 935 miles.

Like: Pearl Sand Black! All the room inside! Interior an upgrade from my ECHO! $600 off list and five years 0% financing! The $10 cruise control! (thankyou YarisWorld!) All the storage places! The Hatchback! The Toyota new car smell! The high seating position! The quality! 36 mpg all citi driving!

Not So Like: ABS and TPMS! (more $$$, more stuff to break, and I already am a responsible driver) More weight than my ECHO! (2300 vs 2000 lbs) Throttle lag! (how did you screw this up Toyota?) Only 36 mpg! When its cold exhaust makes horrendous droning sound until it warms up!
