Question about adding another key and fob

Dealer tells me my separate fob has nothing to do with my car.it has no fob for making it run. Maybe it is a load jack thing. Since this is mentioned it the maintenance report.

It all worked using the ebay programming tool I got for $16. This was a few years ago and looks like I'm going to be doing it again for the Yaris I just got yesterday.

Could you let us know what it was you bought on ebay? I've recently bought a key shell and got the key cut, it will turn the ignition on but wont start so I'm guessing I'm missing a step with the immobilizer.
