But if I'm trying to get somewhere and I'm not shown courtesy at least in the left lane. Or if they speed up when I try to pass them... I've been know to dump a soda out the window slowly when I get in front of them. Rainex doesn't even combat that. They can enjoy their sticky windshield.

Aside from that, when it comes to getting by me, I could be the most courteous driver ever. I'll see you coming from far away. I check my mirrors constantly. 320 miles a day in my Yaris. 0 accidents. Been doing this for years. I know for a fact that I TOO can avoid accidents myself by simply being courteous to those in a hurry. And I'm sure me moving over asap calms their nerves some too.

That trucker in Florida would have given me a thumbs up. Not the middle finger up.

Here (and in Florida....and in some rural counties in California) one should take into consideration that the other driver might be packing. Not a huge concern in any of the 9 Bay Area counties. In the Bay Area, I've observed that incredibly selfish, dangerous drivers (ones who make idiot last second 'my time is too valuable to miss this exit' maneuvers) are usually driving 75k + cars.

Depending on road conditions and traffic congestion, I'll move out of the way even if I'm in the slow lane. I like being courteous, but if one chooses to tailgate me, well, I'll just purposes slow down a little (not brake, just back off the gas a bit). So far, this sticker works 9/10 times I would say. haha. But at the same time, I would hope that other drivers are considerate as well; if there are open lanes to pass, then just pass.

In regards to your post, I reserve the term "motor" primarily for electric motors, and "engine" for gasoline/diesel engines. Although I sometimes say "motor swap" instead of "engine swap."

I don't care what people call the engine as long as it gets the point across.

Things that grind my gears

- slow drivers in left/passing lane
- car accident rubber neckers who do a 180 in their seat to stare down an accident on the other side of the highway
- inconsiderate or selfish drivers who won't let you by or through just because? Id do it for you, why not do it for me?

Oh man, this exactly. I'm starting to hate driving around my city. Especially during spring break. Ugh.

My peeve

Gathering the tools you need to do a job under the car, shimming yourself under said car with tools, dropping that socket that slipped out of your hands and performing ninja like moves to catch it only to fail while it begins to roll down the driveway you attempt one final stretch and slam your hand to grab it but then stare at the horizon of your hand and watch the socket sink into the distance... at that moment you wish you had the FORCE...

And specific to here:
- Yaris, Yari

It's not like you'd refer to your wife as "my wives," so why would you refer to your one Yaris as "my Yari."

^^^ Yes!

Additionally:

- amount instead of number --- if the unit is readily separable then number is correct. If not, then amount is correct -- amount of sugar, but number of cups of sugar. Granules of sugar aren't readily separable. Cups of sugar are readily separable. Most of the time, in my experience, this is manifested in one example -- amount of people (ugh), instead of number of people.

- people that instead of people who

- Me instead of I -- Occasionally I've been lazy and have posted 'Me too' or the like as reply to a Yarisworld post. In hindsight, I know that my mother is figuratively reaching out from the grave to bop me on the head....reminding me that I can drive a car, but me can't . In June of 2006, I attended the high school graduation of one of my young relatives. My cousin sat next to me during the program. The Valedictorian (heading off to Yale that fall) made a mistake in the middle of her speech. I corrected her grammar (under my breath). My cousin was the only person who heard me (and could have heard me). She discreetly punched me in the leg.

- anyways

- double negatives

I just call my engine by it's given name One New Zealand Fuel Efficient (1NZ-FE) That's how I thought of it to remember the engine code...

Thumbs down

How about the damned login timer here? Am I missing something or is it kind of short? Do other folks have this issue as well? I just typed a lengthy PM to someone only to have the system tell me I needed to log back in....lost it

When I read the reviews for this app, this was the most common complaint. Basically the main complaint.

If its lengthy, I'd select it all, hit copy, then submit it.

Yeppers (er, I mean Yes) Yes, with certain programs or databases I work with, you get in the habit of making sure you don't lose your work. Save, copy, etc. will work, and you'll get in the habit of doing that if you lose enough work!

Re chriswf's reply, I thought you were talking about Tapatalk. Now I'm unsure if you mean ^^^^^ the site itself (over the years, from non mobile devices) or Tapatalk. If you are talking about the former..yes, I have had that issue a number of times over the years (even within the last week), and have often lost what I was typing .

Ford "motor" Company for example is actually paying homage to the initial idea of using the new fangled electricity to power and move vehicles. That changed when the oil giants "encouraged" the use of fossil fuels. That is why oil companys also use the common vernacular for engine oil.
