Lol agreed. I just made the other thread to simply see lb vs sedan, this is over done imo.

Well it served to confirm that more people have LBs than Sedans, regardless of age group.

If you have a family, you would opt for something that was in a 4 door and had a slightly larger power plant in the engine compartment. Like thee Corolla or the Camry. My wife bought the Scion xB the same time I bought my Yaris LB (both are 08 models) and she loves the room in the xB, and the 2.4L engine is REALLY nice for hauling around families of 4. Someone who needs the room has far more options at the dealership than just Yaris... like any of the Scion group, or any of the other Toyota cars. If you are going for small and quick, or just cheap, than the Yaris is number one on the list to buy. Especially with 28 and 36 MPG ratings. (My car gets 42 to 44 average, personally.) So it all depends on what you need. I bet if you did a better poll, to include those who had Yaris in their list of choices at the dealership, the Sedan would be far more than the LB in the average. Just my two cents. Did I confuse anyone? I get lost in my own ramblings sometimes, so sorry if it is a little confusing.

why is someone always trying to disprove that lb is more popular. Family or not. Young or old. modder or not. The LB is just more popular

I have 2 LB.
Age is 30.5.
Right at the line between 23-30 and 31-40

This poll is interesting.
LB:Sedan ratio is about the same through out the age groups...

I wasn't trying to disprove it is more popular, I just think that these numbers may not be as accurate as they could be.

OH... and she said "Job that blows." That is funny too. Anybody else get it? You are still cool. I am not putting you down, and if it sounds like it, I am sorry. I think females have the same rights as males. Honestly. A hardened female is way better than some of those soft guys around here, and everywhere else for that matter. Drive On!

I'm wondering what the ratio is just in the USA? Anyone have these numbers yet? I wish all of the LB owners who voted on the other poll would vote on this one. Still missing about 20. Of course the total # of votes is still way less than the total # of users on this site. So until the numbers go up, my poll is inaccurate.

You are right to a certain extent that until the numbers go up, your poll is inaccurate, as the greater the sampling population the more reliable your data.

However, the nature of a poll makes for an unpredictable and constantly increasing sampling population. You have no way of ensuring equal sampling population unless you asked, say, 50 people and got 50 replies in both polls.

Otherwise the results of this current poll can still be valid.

Here's why:
  • You have no way of ensuring that the same people who voted in the initial poll would vote on this poll
  • You also have no way of knowing if the people who voted on this poll voted in the original poll.
  • The chances of the remaining 20 missing persons skewing the poll results are fairly remote.
  • I am too lazy to run up my statistical analysis program, but the numbers show a significant difference that clearly indicate a greater number of LB than sedans.

However, we should remember that this is just a representation of Yarisworld's population demographics.

We can infer from the results that more Yarisworlders own liftbacks than sedans.

One reason could be that LB owners are more interested in their cars (and the resulting community). Sedan owners could simply only be interested to use the car, and not keen at all to find out more about it, or modify it, much less talk about it online. Sure, there could be the exceptions but those are few.

The other reason is that there could simply be fewer sedans made than LBs, which could be a possibility. There are no sedans some markets like Australia/New Zealand or Europe.
