I assume that if and when the kit is produced, you all will be doing this as a "weekend" install yourselves?

From recent experience on another "minor" project, it helps to have small hands, a buddy to help, and a second car. Working during daylight hours or in a well-lit garage is a must.

Start collecting all the metric tools you can get during the holiday sale season. Socket extensions, Torx sockets, metric hex keys... they all make good stocking stuffers to yourself.

Did I mention you need a second car?

ok NOOB question. With the IC piping going directly to the intake, where does the initial air for the engine come from? Is there simply enough "stuck" in the intercool to be sucked in to fire the engine? Or is it just that when the spark ignites the fuel...explosion..pulls in more o2?

The BOV is placed after the turbo, in the compressed air (turbo to engine) section. The purpose of the BOV is to both help regulate maximum pressure in the intake (so it can be set to xxx max PSI) and to "blow off' whenever you lift off the throttle.

If you didn't have a blow off, or didn't have one properly sized for your application, on top of not being able to regulate the boost pressure you would get an effect called compressor surge. Basically when you snap closed the t/b blade (let off the gas) you have alot of pressure that is built up in the intake piping, and it has nowhere to go but back thru the turbo itself. This is generally pretty hard on the turbo, and can lead to bearing failure etc etc.

blow off valves do not regulate maximum air pressure

this is handled by a wastegate

and generally low boost applications don't require a BOV..

the "air in" part is where some tubing and your air filter goes, just for clarity.

And sometimes fury woodland creatures, birds, etc. lol

But I've only seen that happen on all out racecars that just happen to suck in an animal while on the track....Actually one of the Ferrari F1 cars got taken out of a race because a bird got sucked into the engine...poor little guy :(

So no updates?
