I wasn't trying to start an argument.

Just pointing out that when people ask for advice they generally aren't asking for genuine advice but instead reassurance so that they can go ahead and move forward with what they were going to do anyway but now feeling justified in doing so.

Didn't really have anything to do with expectations about the internet or otherwise. At no point was I saying people should expect sympathy, or even empathy for that matter, on the internet. In fact I'd assume most of the time you'll get the opposite.

But, most likely, you will find a few people in your corner and ignore the advice of all those who might disagree with you. That's just human nature. And that's all I was pointing out. It was just an observation mostly in response to some of the people on here getting all worked up over what Kevin does. And yes, I understand he asked but all you can do is throw in your 2 cents and move on. At the end of the day it's his call.

And the rest of us really don't have all that much at stake no matter what he decides to do.

Makes perfect sense. I don't think ANYBODY IN THE WORLD cares what he does. But it's a forum, and it's fun for us to discuss and make comments, which is the whole point of this place. It's a enjoyable way to waste time. But yeah, the whole asking advice and looking for sympathy is pretty much expected. . . but it's usually more common with younger people. Some people, whom get older and wiser, learn to listen to opposing opinions and look for logic and reason. And sometimes when presented with a good argument, they will broaden their point of view and LEARN. It's one of the greatest things about life, growing up. There are finer and greater joys in life that, as a kid, you never knew existed. Back then, you cared about which grocery getter went 0-SLOW in the least slow time. Later on, if you still have a passion for speed, you save your money and put it into something WORTHWHILE.

You can spend decades trading in slow car after slow car, or you can save for 5-10 years and buy something TRULY remarkable. Most of the time, the people (that don't get money from their parents) who drove miserable beaters when young are the first to own their own home or a legitimately nice car, own being the operative word. Then there's the people perpetually trading in their top trim (OMG, it has a special edition R badge on the back) POS, owing half a decade up on their car in payments and upside on the loan.

To those in the OP's situation:

If you couldn't get the loan for the Tacoma, you have zero business owning a Mustang. The insurance is equally the difference on what you would have paid for the Tacoma. So in short, if the BANK, the greediest of all people won't lend you money, that should tell you something about your finances.

It's a good idea that you kept your Yaris. Based on your age, I'm going to gander it's probably the threshold of affordability, as well.

Blazer makes lamps and lights for GM, kinda like how denso does for Toyota. The critical part is the install... Proper wires, switches, fuses, and relays.

Theyre gonna bolt them on just infront of the slots where they should be, you guys thinnk it's worth it? And it comes with a switch and wiring inside etc they will wire them to my low beams apparently.

What do I do? I have up until friday to decide if I don't want them on.

It just bugs me they re going to put a hole in my car where it shouldnt be. Maybe I could get them put behind the grille in the centre of the car on the bottom?

Still willing to by fogs if anyone has them for a sedan.

If you plan to install them... it would have to be in the lower front grille. They will actually look okay there. Anywhere else would just look very odd.

Don't understand why you don't get fogs from Garm. Go to the bank (CDN$ almost at par now), purchase a money order, post it to Garm, and he'll send you the fogs. With just a little patience, your car will look better... and you'll be much happier in the end.

I'd wire them up to a seperate switch, but it's a personal preference thing. Fog lamps are pretty much just decorative if there's no actual fog. . . kind of a waste of bulbs to leave them on all the time.

Putting them behind the grill will cut light output, so unless you can have them completely clear the spacing, you SHOULD make some cuts to have them be functional. Make sure they are using a seperate power line and not just wiring them up from the headlights' hot power lead, otherwise you'll end up with melted wires. The Yaris is already prewired for fog lights, you just need to buy the switch assembly which might be hard for you to get. . .

The proper install is a direct wire to the battery, a relay, and interior switch. It should be on it's own circuit.

How does a Money Order work? And how the hell do I get garm to talk to me.

And does his foglight kit come with the switch assembly or whatever?

A money order is like a certified check. . . you give them cash, they give you a money order. Money orders can be cashed at banks. And you can contact garm via his website, PM, or email.

How the hell do I give him a cheque? I'd have to send it in the mail no?

Not a check, a money order. You walk into a bank, give them cash, and they give you a money order. And yes, mail it using certified mail. It takes just a couple days and you get confirmation that it's been received. Money orders are safe to mail, there's no personal account numbers or identification attached; just certified funds made out to him. Once he receives it, he can ship you the parts. Do you not have mail where you live?

If a money order is sooooo complicated, just go to a friggin western union. OMG dude, it's seriously NOT THAT HARD.

You can also get a prepaid credit/debit card to make purchases online.

Canadian money orders are valid in the USA, if sent to a recipient in the USA. . . plus Garm won't have to ship anything until the funds clear anyway, which they will since they can be cashed (assuming he doesn't take the M.O. to Somalia or something). . .

Garms Yaris has 357 HP (in one of the lightest cars available). A Mustang would probably need about 450 HP to compete. I've never seen a base Mustang with those specs.
