Wet floor on the passenger side? Got it!
Hi, all Yaris owners!
This is my first posting on this forum, and I wanted to share my experience with my Nemobile, Yaris 09 sedan. I bought this used car from a dealer in Summer 2010. After a while I noticed that the passenger side floor gets a little bit wet. Soon it was very wet, and I had to google the symptom and reasons. Possible reasons I found were: 1. AC Water Leak 2. Rain Leak I suspected AC water leak because the floor gets wet only in Summer. But then I was too lazy I totally forgot about it after the Summer. In this Summer, it was uncontrollable. Even the floor of the back seat was wet, so I had to lift the floor and see what's going on. I have to tell you, there was a lot of water under the floor. I sucked all the water out with dry&wet vacuum, and lifted more floor. Finally I found that the end of the hose that takes AC water out of the car was not in the place and it was inside the floor. This was located at the foot area of passenger floor. I had to put it back in the whole and seal it with silicon. Attached image is the pic of the spot. Now the floor is getting dry, and I don't see the symptom happening anymore. And also I realized that the AC makes a lot of water. lol Just in case if anyone has the same issue, I hope this helps.

I can't believe that hose was'nt properly run through the hole in the floor!
My car started having the same problem. I completely removed that rubber hose and drained all the built up water into a folded towel little by little. I found the hose full of what appeared to be spider webs.....

I had the same thing happen with my old Ford Probe.
Yes, it's amazing how much water an AC can dump into the interior if it can't drain properly. |

Yeah, mine was so full it was making the vent blower act erratic due to water getting into it.

Another point about this drain which I found out last winter. I too had a wet passenger floor, the reason was the windscreen was iced up so I thawed it with warm water. the drain in question had obviously been freezing and thawing repeatedly and had finally frozen solid, so the drain backed up to the heater with the water I was putting on the windscreen and drained into the car! Probably a good idea to check if it is free from time to time.
