Check what I found !
3 weeks ago my exhaust line snapped in half right after the resonator , I Gerry rigged it with some Canadian tire piping & "U" bolts.
Tail pipe had been fixed the same way by the previous owner so I'm in need of a full line. I manage to find a brand new take off OEM silencer from a 2005 Echo Liftback . but I'm still in need of the front part so while surfing my local KiJiJi I found this : His pipe was also modified exactly where mine has been repaired by the previous owner so I'm still stuck but I asked the guy to cut it right after the resonator hoping I can manage to attached them together with more Canadian tire parts. Here's my fix before finding the Borla . Not pretty but it worked ( leaked as hell but ) . The fix on mine by previous owner ( over the axle beam ) Now you guys can't laugh , this is my Sunday fix to be able to run the Borla. To hold the back I think they just put some metal screws for the exhaust hanger in those 2 holes. I did not like the idea so I drilled 2 big hole on the side to be able to insert 2 M8 nut to secure the bracket. Here's some outside shots. I really like it and it's not loud. Car looks pink but it is the camera setting. I just bought a EOS60D from Canon but I know $hit about camera. I'll go somewhere to have it welded so I can remove all the "U" bolts I have put there. |

Nice find. The borla does give a nice sound. Not too loud. But it does get annoying around 4000rpm on the highway.

The borla is a nice muffler, good find! Get the exhaust pipes fixed properly, i've lived with exhaust leaks for half a year and when they get in the cabin it isn't fun. Muffler will sound better too when its all done properly.

Yeah I know but right it doesn't leak at all so it's keeping me away from the muffler shop but I know I should.
The guy who had the exhaust for sale , his Echo was a 2005 so when I got there I bought the Borla and I asked the guy if he can include his Cluster , bezel with the 2 pigtail for $200.00 so he did. I put the cluster back for sale , 3 days after I got $150.00 for it so my Borla is costing me $50.00 . This is even a better deal for me. |

haha nice.
the issue with the borla is that there is nothing to hang the muffler between the exhaust tip and the muffler itself. so it tends to hang down from there. see how it tilts over time.. By the time it tilts like this, your exhaust gasket has completely disintegrated to something like this... Dealer has changed it for me out of charge, but after 2-3 months, it's tilted again.. |

There is 2 rubber hanger at the tip and there is another one right behind the muffler itself so it should not tilt.
We can't see it but it's right there : |

I found the 2 hangers at the muffler tip is not very sufficient...
But i would add a hanger here, so the weight is not all on the tip, and obviously, most of the weight are hanging down where my arrow is. |

I may be pointing to the wrong spot? because, there are rubber hangers for the stock exhaust.. 1 front 1 back. but by installing the borla, we're only using 1 and then send the weight to the exhaust tip..

You are 100% right.
The stock muffler uses 2 but the Borla just one + the tip. |
