Roof top carriers??????
I got an aftermarket roof rack that is similar to an oem style rack. I had to screw it into my roof. However I plan on using it a lot. I need to get a bag or a hard shell carrier to put on it to house my family's camping gear. I am trying to decide which box to go with and was wondering if anyone here had any experience with any of them. Thanks for your help.

Most pics I've seen of those long covered enclosures are the Yakima brand.

Well I have decided upon the Thule Cascade XT 1500. It is 69" long so I guess it will extend out over the front. I am putting this on a liftback. Most other models with the same storage capacity are far longer. Anyone else have any experience with these?

Please post images following the install. I've been debating on rack systems for some time on my liftback. I need a place to carry my bikes.

What rack system did you end up going with? Same solution as Peter? Is there anyway you could post some close ups, if it's different of course. This will be my next mod Thanks

I got a generic oem style from JCWhitney.com. I think it may be the only oem style one they have on there. You have to drill holes in the roof. I got the smallest size 36" by 36." I think the next size 36" by 42" would fit but I like the look of the size I got. We are heading out to camping this weekend. I will take some pics when I get back on monday. I will need to post pics of the car with the carrier loaded and the bike rack loaded up on the hitch. I will post them next week.
