not much is allowed in the mainstream media

flip over to cable channels and you'll hear it all, satellite radio-everything but mainstream tv and radio is very censored

ahh, ok thanks. that's what i was after. that's quite censored compared to here. I wonder if this has any relation to the amount of people being sued for anything and everything - USA's media seems to be required to be much more politically correct than Aust.

hmmm doesn't walmart or some other big chain store only distribute only censored version of CDs where swear words are bleeped or replaced? I remember reading about that, but it was quite a few years back, and I heard some of those reworked songs, they're usually hilarious because they make no sense

Why? I ask from iggerance, rather than anything else. It's also OK for you to use the word "honky", which is the really the same thing backwards, isn't it? So you're allowed to use the insulting word for "white folks" as well as the insulting word for "black folks". For some reason, white folks don't get the same priviledges. Sounds racially-biased to me

I haven't met any Auckers over here, except guests at one operation. Pity because Australian women are lookers and are allegedly "easy". The Auckers tended to be soft spoken and educated, not those boys from the stations and outback who probably can cuss as good as any.

At work we use every cuss word copiously except "nigger". We're all scared of it. On the production floor there are only three black guys, all of them rural blacks who have heard from Klansmen and other white cracker trash. They probably wouldn't care but I figure I won't be the first to incur the wrath of HR. Besides, I get along well with all of them and don't see the need to make them uncomfortable, or to associate me with some cross burnin' inbred who can't get along in life and has to blame others.

Just the other day a coworker, whose name is Richard but whom I call "Dick" said, "Hi, Homo". I said, "Hi, Dick". We then exchanged accusations of who was the better cocksucker. Dick has a pharaoh style beard that I call his "cum gutter" while he said I'm clean shaven because my boys like a bald beaver. Both of us are straight males but banter back and forth.

I've been accused of being a queer, a Nazi and a homicidal maniac. I've told younger guys I am their Dad or at least was tapping their Mom while they were in utero (hence their misshapen ugly heads). One dude brought his Mom in on family day and we hit it off, sorta. He squelched that fast, as she is single and might have been willing. Nobody wants a guy who is tapping their Mom working with them.

So amongst the common folk its cool.


In the US the Federal Communications Commission, aka FCC, has a kind of "Community Review" period for a radio station's license. Any race baiter, bed wetter, overly sensitive twat, freak, or other species of meddling dripping hole, can file a complaint that denies a radio station license renewal. The station has to "defend" against the claim or lose its license. As a consequences of this unvarnished horseshit we're reduced to a Romper Room mentality.

I'm told its even worse in Canada, where Pastors who preach sections of Leviticus that frown upon homosexuality can be fined and jailed by the Human Rights Commission. That kind of censorship is grotesque and will only invite reaction from some who would otherwise live and let live with gays.

Incidentally, I have a gay couple living next door to me. Their sexuality doesn't bug me, their love for Keystone light beer and cooking meat outdoors gets on my nerves some times. They also have a piss contest going with a thirty something curvaceous young thing in the adjoining home, who I'd like to nail to the mattress given half the chance. Her dog attacks them sometimes. He goes after me too but I don't make a case out of it, must be my dick thinking again.

Our "sensitivity" is colored (if you'll pardon the term) by political consideration.

Consider this gem, uttered on US Television by Senator Robert Byrd of West Virginia.

I saw this, uncensored, on TV. Nobody came to call on Senator Byrd, nor demanded his resignation from the Senate, nor as far as I know even demanded an apology. Byrd gave one anyhow.

In his youth Byrd was a member of the Ku Klux Klan, founded as a mutual aid society in the South for Confederate Vets which changed into an ugly racist organization. He resigned from it and apologized.

I think it's ironic - Senator Trent Lott can "congratulate" a former Segregationist Strom Thurmond on his birthday and "hail his achievements" and be forced to step down from his leadership position in the Senate.

Jim Crow has been dead for over forty years, many people alive today could not imagine an Apartheid in America. Yet we have to keep this infamy alive for a Republican like Strom Thurmond.

A Democrat can join and leave the Klan, and say "Nigger" on TV. It's okay. Byrd kept his seat and committee assignments. He continues to support Harry Reid and others in the Senate.

Trent Lott was "anti-Progressive". Bobby Byrd was "Progressive".

We call this "Selective Outrage".
