Wilmington is a nice area, on the beach. I would think things would be kind of expensive their though, but coming from Ohio you might think it's reasonable.

The apartments down there are about the same cost, I even found a few cheaper. The wages are more there as well. Our average wage is $24,000. Theirs is $32,000. Unemployment rate is 7% there, ours is 10.5%. I think it's definitely for the best.

Plus, hardly any snow, and a beach.

oh dude, i put new front speakers and dome tweeters in the ride on Saturday...and I'm working on a cosmetic mod tonight/tomorrow night :)

Well any place that caters to tourists is going to be higher. Rent, food, gas, etc. Also in the summer traffic will suck. Still can't beat the beach and warmer weather. I would say that close to the beach they get pretty much NO SNOW.

My daughter is in Jacksonville, NC. Her rent is about $800 for a 2 bedroom/2 bath. Jacksonville is above Wilmington, but also near the beach.

We're just going for an efficiency apartment (studio, 1 BR, etc.). I've found a few close to the beach at around 350-500 per month, some even include utilities.

I pay $350/month for a 2BR here, plus my utilities are usually around $150-$200.
