Like I said, I've only done city driving with it so far but the sound quality is identical to the stock one as far as I can tell. It even got reception in my underground parkade, as good or better as the stock one ever did.

Few questions.

What brand is it? Where did you get it from? Did you have to paint it or did it come in that color? How much is it?

It's from a company called Visual Garage. Their website is http://www.visualgarage.com/home.html

The antenna comes prepainted. They match the shark fin to the color code of your car. You can go onto their site, select your car make and model and the name of your car color and they'll tell you what color code you should be specifying in your order. As far as I'm aware, they have matching colors for all the yaris's.

The price on their website is $69.00. That doesn't include the cost of shipping. I kinda lucked out. I live in Vancouver Canada. This company is located just outside of Vancouver in a city called Richmond so I was able to drive there (half hour drive) and pick it up. I paid $75.00 Cdn total for it.

I got mine from Hong Kong (ebay) for $2 and $6 for Sh&h no paint.

It's fake but looks good.

Every thing started as a joke, and I placed an order a week later there it was!

I dont understand. Could you do what derickveliz2 did if you really like the shark fin look and save a bunch of money and have a antenna that works better than the one you spend money on. Your factory antenna? And then it oculd be easily removed if the vehicle is sold the the new owners taste does not like it. To me that just makes more sense.

The shark fin antenna that I bought can be removed at any time. It's glued down with a strip of foamy adhesive (they called it a gasket). You'd probably have to use some goo remover to get the little bits of adhesive off but then it would look like it did before and you'd just screw the old one back on. That's what I like about this mod as well, it's completely reversible but it's not like I have no antenna there now (if I was using a fake).
