Timing chain cover leak, fixed under warranty, still leaked, they said they forgot a solenoid, replaced under warranty, STILL LEAKS! no longer under warranty (I do not care enough to fix it, it drips on pig mats on garage and by the 5k mileage oil change it doesn't even have low oil) No other problems other than regular maintenance.

New battery around 70K
Water pump failure at 152k
I hydrolocked the engine at around 100k which was completely my fault.

Otherwise no problems.

Today I had the second oil change done on my 2014 Yaris at 6,676 miles (3,003 miles since first change). This time I took it to Brake Check (a Texas chain). I had Brake Check do the last two oil changes on my 2007 Yaris. They have a policy where you get every 4th oil change free. Before those changes, I asked if the 'counting' re those changes was specific to the customer or the car. I was told the customer, not the car. I dropped by about 3,000 miles ago to get the first oil change for my 2014. I was told I was too close to closing and they couldn't squeeze me in. I ended up going to Service First (mentioned on another thread).

Today, at Brake Check, I double checked this. It turns out the company policy (it is a Texas wide chain) has changed. The '4th free' is now car specific. Apparently quite a few people have a range of levels of cars that they own (with varying amounts they are willing to spend on upkeep), and too many people were paying for 3 basic changes on a cheap small car and then using the free one to get a synthetic change on a more expensive vehicle. They gave me over 1/3 off the first change today on my 2014 (because it is a first visit with that car with them). Their regular price is cheaper than Service First. I'll do two more changes with them, plus the free one, and then reexamine the situation. I'll do my next oil change, out of state (probably in Arizona), in a few weeks and then my next one after that at Brake Check when I get back to Texas. This particular Brake Check location did the wheel bearing replacement on my 2007 Yaris at 110,000 miles, and that work is still holding up 190,000 miles later. This location is under new (as in under 2 months) management (much improved ). The new manager told me that even if I had arrived 1 minute before closing for the first oil change for my 2014 (in December), they should have accepted my car and always should under such circumstances.

2007, just over 57k miles.

Other than having the rack & pinion replaced at 40k and the clear coat on the bumpers re-sprayed, it's been smooth sailing.

Well at 57k it's barely broken in ;) Did you drive over a curb or why did the r&p have to be replaced?

The car was involved in a minor fender bender early on when a friend didn't realize I was parked behind her and backed into me. It was a low to no speed impact and I had everything inspected/repaired professionally, so not sure that caused it, but don't know what else might have. Maybe just a factory dud? I opted for the extended warranty, so luckily it only cost me the $50 deductible to have it all replaced by the stealership.

2007 yaris rs 5 door 225,000 km, no major problems, I had an ABS light come on 2 years ago during the spring. Cleaned the connector and it went away.
put on a tooter intake manifold and a 1zz throttle body about 20,00km ago, only issue there is if I don't let the car warm up sufficiently the throttle body gives an over current CEL and limits the rpm to 2000, and that only happens when its below -25. this car has been dead reliable and couldn't be happier with it.

2006 Hatchback, 5 door, 1KR-FE engine.
100,000 miles.

Water pump went bad at 65,000 miles. Made a lot of noise.
Alternator failed at 88,000 miles. Faulty voltage regulator. Drove it around for weeks.

Other than that. A few tyres, brake pads, a battery and an exhaust a bulb or two and servicing. I really can't complain. I drive it like i stole it and it takes me all over the country.

2004 Toyota Yaris 5door Hatchback 1.0 (65hp)

150,000 km (94000 miles)

Some electrical problems like the dome light won't turn on, front windshield wiper liquid pump isn't getting electricity. The headlights turned ugly yellow so I changed them, The little engine that could is purring like it's still brand new.
