There has been pics from overseas (non-US photos) of Older gen Yaris/Vitz swapped with the 2zz, although it was a TIGHT fit. All the pics were I believe from Thailand or Indonesia, unsure tho.

So the photographic side is out there, but no videos as of yet.

It fits as a direct drop in? Or it fits with a huge hammer and some bravery?

IDK how it fits but here In PR we've manage to fit that engine in everything

2zz Yaris
2zz Scion xA
2zz Scion xB the new model
2zz Echo
2zz Tercel
2zz 1998 Corolla

we even have a few 2AZ-FE Tercel (Scion Tc Engine)

So u get the idea.... IT CAN BE DONE!

I just wanted to see if it'll require an engine bay make over. If so, I was just thinking of doing that dual vvt-i engine in the Corolla here.

I Know for fitment into the Echo you need to clearance the both frame rails. The pulley side is the worst because most of the pulley and belts need to go through the frame. Two of the motor mount are a direct bolt up on the transmission and I'm not 100% on the engine side but I know it pretty close.. normally the 2ZZ uses 4 mounts not 3 to contain the power. So I think you'd want the TRD inserts.

So it's not really THAT much work if you know how to use a MIG welder.
