Those calipers are not a bad price at all. I'm still thinking I'll spend the money on a decent wheel and tire set up though. Although those have now made it on my higher priority list.

idk, might be looking at getting one of the new Endless kits. Meant for smaller cars while still offering good cooling properties.

At California Speedway and the Streets @ Willow Springs I didn't experiance any brake fade. I'm running the Carbotech XP8 pads in the stock calipers up front, and the 917 shoes out back. I changed the fluid to ATE Superblue DOT 4. I also upgraded to slotted rotors.

These two track outings were on 500TW tires and stock suspension, and the brakes were more than up to the task of cooking off the tires after about three laps at both tracks (it's a pretty wierd feeling when the front tires start squirming around under the car while threshold braking, and getting so hot and gooey that they don't make a sound while 4-wheel drifting on corner exits)

I have a set of Rota's wrapped in RT-615's for the next track day, so we'll see how things hold up....

The tires will work the brakes a lot more, but I don't think things will get to heavy for the stock brakes.

woah, they have carbotechs for our car?? i have heard alot of great things about carbotechs!! they even make shoes?

yeah, it'll be interesting to see how the brake temps change with the new tires, i think your on the right track though wise, hope they hold up!! i think that they should be fine up until you go to slicks.

This car is a weapon on twisty tracks with Miatas! Gut the thing and have a total blast!

Don't know what to tell ya, Tamago. I got brake fade really bad at Carolina Motorsports Park, and a little less severe and less consistently at Sebring. With the brake ducting, I had no problem at Sebring. (Had a BLAST playing cat and mouse with a couple Miatas on street tires the last time I was at Sebring! One could barely keep up, the other one had me out-powered, but couldn't keep up in the turns until he got behind me for a couple laps and let me educate him... then the bastard passed me!)

On the stock pads, I used to get brake fade just doing a couple healthy autocross runs! Admittedly, I left-foot brake, which could have something to do with that.

Maybe the xA has better airflow to the brakes than the Yaris? That's really all it would take. The Yaris wheel wells appear to be pretty well blocked from airflow, quite possibly on purpose to reduce drag. It's made for economy, not performance.

Carolina Motorsports Park is notorious for being hard on brakes. Plus, your using those Endless pads, my faith in top brand JDM parts is pretty weak after my experiences.

Yeah, I'd have never gone with Endless, but my 2008 One Lap co-driver (Jeff aka 03Z33 or whatever his handle is here) got a deal on them so that's what we ran.

To be fair, they are good street pads. Problem is that we need good RACE pads for a Yaris on a race track.

yes, custom fitting.

someone with access to a water jet should be able to fab up mounting plates for the yaris pretty easily

Outlaw has many different sizes . Hopefully it will be a bolt on affair . I am currently researching .............

Many things come into play . Disc thickness (.866) and diameter , pad surface area and disc depth , and mounting center . Just to name a few . If there is a caliper that will fit the Yaris I will let everybody know within a couple of weeks . (Right after my snowboard vacation March 9-15 )

With all this talk about brakes and big brake kits and this and that. I'm glad I have my stock calipers still.

I have these two giant gaping holes in the front end which leads to a clear shot of the wheels and brakes. All that air going there cools them off really nicely. Now no more overheating. On my stock front end, all I had to do was take out those black covers (on the RS the fog lights) and take out the wheel liner.
