So I FINALLY got mine installed after so many months...
One word, wow! It looks so much better, it feels better, the throws are so much quicker, it's nice! I have a small nitpick, though, but it's not TWM's fault at all, but as the gear shifter is shorter, your hand has less leverage, and quite a bit more effort is needed to change gears, this can negate the size difference. But I'm sure it's just a matter of getting used to ![]() Anyway, I was trying to drive slow and smooth on this tank to see what kind of maximum mileage I can get... After the shifter change, well, it's impossible to resist going fast

Does TWM's kit come with the leather boot? The gearknob looks to be a Momo item. How much was the total cost? |

That looks really nice! I'm glad to hear you like the short shifter. I know exactly what you mean about it being impossible to resist going fast once you install the shifter, I feel the same way every time I do an install! Kevin TWM |

The TWM kit is just the metal rod, and at the time I got it, they added the shifter cage bushings in at no charge. The rods are identical, thankfully
They always have some different promotions going on, so check out their site to see their current pricing.Leather boot and shift knob were acquired separately (boot's from www.redlinegoods.com, it's actually the xB one, but a perfect fit).

Not trying to hijack the thread for a newbie question, but how to you actually remove the knob from a gearstick? This isn't to switch the entire shifter, just the knob. Seems like the plastic ones are sealed on right around. :S

Unscrew it! Might be pretty tight, but give it a good twist and it should get loose.
