The problem with driving a SET LED, based on just the switch, is that there are too many conditions where you could press the switch, but not really be "set". Tonight I should have a chance to drop the schematic into ORCAD. If there was enough interest in the modules I figured I would do a run of boards.

I see. pretty cool either way. I was thinking of just doing a cmos flip flop switch to run the LED. I figured I could use the connection made by the on/off to touch a flip flop circuit or a relay and reset it's state, turning on the LED. of course, that might be using a sledgehammer to drive a thumb tack :)

Nice work. Please consider the fact a car power supply is really "dirty". You'll have to take bursts and surges into account. I'd add a nice big elco to VDD (at least 100uF 35V) and a 100nF 50V X5R/X7R ceramic capacitor close to the controller.

Are you measuring battery voltage at p6 ? -> Add 100nF over R7.

If you have an 09 LB I'de say the ebay stalk with a sparks oem clutch switch is the way to go, anyone tried it/.

Hold on just a couple more days and I'll have that module installed. I just haven't had time to rip the dash again. I also have to rethink my clutch switch, the switch broke. That's what I get for going cheap :) Anyway, I'll prolly just buy the oem one. I'll put picks up when I'm done with all of this...

The cost of that kit is exactly why we looked for a cheaper route. Looking at the installation instructions for it, it actually does the cruise control itself, as opposed to using the Yaris's built in functionality.

Well i pulled apart my dash on the 07 Australian Delivered Yaris, to find there is no CCS blue wire from the ECM to the AD4 Plug. Unless i got it wrong but there was a blue wire on the bottom row which i doubt was the CCS wire.. Very disappointing.

You can run one very easily. It took me literally 20 minutes to install this from popping the hood all the way through to drive testing. And i had to run a wire.

Hi guys ! first of all I want a thanks everyone who contributed in making this amazing mod available for everyone, especially CTScott and . I found this community while I was looking for a DIY CC installation for my Yaris, and I never thought I would be able to make it for less than 10$, thats just the coolest mod ever ! I followed very carefully your instruction and still can't make it work... Here's a few pics of my installation :

The switches


Connector D3 without CC wires


Red wire from switch to pin 40 of connector A21


Gray ground wire in the back grounded in the door sill


Jumper from clutch switch cable to ground


At first I thought that my ground was bad so I changed from a bolt behind the passenger glove box to that one with no success... I also changed the jumper wire to a bigger one. I still believe that the problem is the ground, I have a multimeter and knows how to check if a ground is really a ground but not if it is a good one. If any of you can explain it to me it would be very appreciated ! Thanks

Try soldering the wires to the switches. If you just have them twisted, they may not be making a reliable connection.

i have read most of this thread looks cool and cheap for cruise control . so on my early 08 lb automatic i can use the oem stock and what else do i need ? please help i put ton of miles on my car and cruise would be way nice to have for cheap

^ you need wires going from the ECM to the little hub in the steering wheel column, a wire going from that hub to a ground point, and the stalk, and then a jumper wire for two pins in the engine bay. Everything's been outlined and explained, so you just need to read carefully. That's about it. I'm selling my stalk btw, since I just don't really want it.

If you have a clutch you need the clutch switch, the part number is in this thread
