I have a Yaris but just got my son a 2004 Sentra 1.8S with 43,000 miles. You will NOT get the same MPG as the Yaris but that is due to the more weight and bigger engine. Good luck with the Sentra.

Congrats on the Sentra! CVT? or 6 speed?

I've heard mixed reviews on the CVT, it's something you have to learn to love. I drove a Caliber a while ago while my Durango was at the dealer with a CVT and damn, it sounded like a vacuum cleaner having a panic attack.

Still, to each their own. Personally (not to start a flame here), I've always looked at smaller cars as a second vehicle for a household. This is the purpose for my interest in the Yaris. I don't need to carry anything in it, tow anything with it...just shovel it out of the driveway, put a few gallons a week in the tank and put up with the smaller space for commutes. I'm also a larger, taller guy, so I suppose if I was a smaller single individual the Yaris would make more sense as a main vehicle. However, it can't haul my landscape trailer...but the new 2wd Highlander with 2.7L V6 could if I lowered the final drive :) muahahaha. anyway.
