maintenance required

How do you get rid of the light it says i need a oil change i did it but the light is still there. Do i need to go to the dealer?

turn the Trip meter to the "A" display, turn off the ignition, and hold the button for the trip meter down while you turn on the ignition again, you dont have to crank the car, just "on", hold the button untill the bars go across the trip meter and flash.

Or, you can do it the hard way. Disconnect the battery's negative terminal for five minutes, then reconnect.

i don't think that works. the light should be wired to the cluster's odometer, not the main ECU.

I'll assume my 2008 sedan doesn't have the maintenance light, or at least not associated with oil change intervals.
I've rounded 40,000 kilometers (~25,000 miles) in 13 months, do my own oil changes and have never seen, nor re-set any warning light.

oh.. I am sure as in, there's no way the ECU knows how many miles the car has been driven, except the Odometer.

beside that, i do not know how else the idiot proof light can be activated.
