A little wheel help...
So, I want to buy new wheels soon. I would like to maybe get 17's as opposed to the stock 15's on my 08 LB. However, I want my total wheel radius with tires mounted to be the same as stock I believe having different total tire radius would throw off my speedometer (if only a microscopic amount). My problem is I don't know the first thing about wheels and tires. I don't know what offset, lug spacing, etc. i should be looking for. I don't want the tires to rub at all, and I have no desire to lower or anything like that. So, any help someone could give as to the following questions would be greatly appreciated:
What are the specs I need to know on the stock tire/wheel combo to match in a new wheel and tire combo? What other wheels have you guys used that were maybe stock on another car that looked good (my eye is on the toyota scion xd black trd alloy wheels here: http://conicelliscion.oemdealer.com/...2067_22307.php if i wanted a wider tire, how wide could i go without rubbing at full turn? thanks in advance... |

With 17s, you could go 205/45. With 215s I didn't rub, until I lowered it 2".

Go with OEM tyre size 205/45/17 on 17x7 wheels with no less than +42mm offset.

bolt pattern for the Yaris is 4 x 100, which it shares with the xB, xA and Miata I believe.
7" is a good width for a 205 tire on a Yaris.

Who said Yaris was slow?

Must common 17" wheels on 4x100 are going to be 7" wide
As the others said: 17" 4x100 bolt pattern 7" width Offset 42+ or 45+ for no rub at all. Tires: 2 options 205/45/17 A little better ride on these, but not as common as the next size 205/40/17 Most common tire size... a little harsher ride on these. One IMPORTANT thing to concider. Weight!! Stay away from heavy wheels. The weight kills this car... On a 17x7 wheel size a semi light weight wheel would be 16-17lb or less. Konig and Rota have some very affordable and lightweight options... |
