Oh and best quote from the movie Funny People: "How long has Harry been going to school? Is he getting his masters in wizardry or what?" lol

Good to hear...I'm going tonight. Despite overall great reviews two friends of mine said they didn't like...then I realized they only like films w/ lots of things blowing up (yawn).

Just got my tickets to see it tonight with wife and daughter.

If daughter was old enough to orgasm, I think she would have had one when I came home and surprised her with tickets.

That's rather graphic.

I noticed the films read "based on a book by J.K. Rowling." That is well said because the books and the film are not exact parallels. In fact, I think I would not re-read the book to prepare for the film....just take the film "as is." We enjoyed it very much....great cinematography and nice, subtle performances. One critic put it like this, "you think nothing major is happening in the film, and afterward you realize that everything is happening in the film." I could see his/her point. The fiolm was very well done!!

liked the movie A LOT! didn't seem like two and a half hours at all(actually the lame previews before it seemed longer). as others have mentioned - not exactly like the book, but still very good. they did add a couple things, however, i really liked. the hourglass in slughorn's office that slows down if the conversation is interesting - that's not in the book, right? also, the scene with harry in the diner getting hit on by the HOT waitress - pretty funny in an 'awkward teenager' sort of way. in fact, a lot of the movie had those 'awkward teenager' moments! wished we would have gotten to see more about the ring dumbledore had acquired(it is important to the story). finally, i thought the ending was done better in the book, but i won't say anything as to spoil for those who haven't seen it yet.
