rumors rumors
So my Toyota dealer told me that they want to eventually phase out most of the Scion cars and keep them under the toyota name, and that this yaris is kind of a 'test' to see if it can be done. Its an interesting thought, I dont know if it would work like that, but maybee there is enough room for a small toyota and a scion at the same time that I can buy.

an interesting bit of information... it's a possiblity... as long as they are willing to change the overall impression of TOYOTA. As in... not only a family company but one with style and perhaps a bit of performance as well.

It isn't going to happen. Toyota started Scion to market to kids, and so far it is working very well. They sold about 75,000 tC's last year, and also sold about 50,000 xB's and 28,000 xA's. Way too many for Toyota to kill the brand this fast.
