Which DD 8's? One of the guys at my shop has a pair of the 1508's in a vented enclosure and OMGawd! That thing is LOUD! Yes, it runs off of 1200 Watts, but it's also dialed down 11 dB at he source too. I'll try to get you guys a pic of the enclosure. It's one of the "bare SPL" MDF non-carpeted look types of enclosures. It was all custom fabbed though. Decent router work too.

I've heard stories of some using 4000 Watts for each 1508. I know that a loaded single DD1508 enclosure runs around $300. For what that factory enclosure gives, that price is worth every penny.

I don't think Digital Designs allows there pricing online, they want you to go to a local dealer.

As they should. It helps protect the brand. I know the shop I frequent sells DD.

Unhappy

Enjoying good sound, hopping to get better soon.

For now trying to install a garage door opener in a very low area, almost impossible, but I'm working on it, it's easier than taking the back seat off or building spheres!

But what kills me it's the Cold! -16F and feels like -34F

Can't say much...I'm in a moderate climate. I can empathize though. I used to live in Maine. eF that! I'll take the rain anyday over 6' snow drifts.

Here are some thoughts (Graphically) about Auto TA + Auto EQ with the P99...

Before...
Some instruments coming from left & right at the same time
Voice did the same and couldn't really locate it
I felt kind of on the left side of the stage

After...
Me right in the middle of the stage
Voice is clear and can be located very easy
Each instrument has it's own position
This is the hardest one for my brain... my stage goes beyond the left window, it's wired I have to close my eyes (NOT in motion) to feel and understand being in the center of the stage and the right side doesn't goes all the way to the right, like 12 inches from the left window towards the driver, leaving me in the center of the stage... also it's deeper and higher, and forgot to mention that most of the bass feels like coming from the front at about chest level.
And in some songs, I swear I can hear a rear speaker playing a specific instrument or sound.

Sounds AWESOME!

Derick...

The only guidance I'll want to give you is off the IASCA rules for staging. That seems like what you're going after.

PM me with your time alignment numbers and other settings in the audio section.

What track are you listening to?

Do you have "Too Close" off the IASCA SQ cd(or any of the latest IASCA cd)? We can talk exactly where things are supposed to be. We can also use the seven drums track to align this correctly. How about some Diana Krall? Get with me and we'll dial this in more accurately.

Here some DATA... Before and After Auto TA & EQ from the software of the P99

I'm going for tracks that have defined staging and clean recording. I'd rather go with a live performance as well.

Any song in particular, I'm buying an album (live performance) and a couple of songs.

Any opinion on DVC vs SCV subs? assuming its matched to the amp and all. Single sub system in a sealed box. I've heard you can put a little more power to the DVC. I thinking of the same brand too.

Oh GAWD...

Okay, let's try this:

I'm noticing huge frequency gaps on the crossover section on your setup. Here's some of my screens:

^Sub woofer frequency and slope

^Mid Woofer frequency and slopes on both ends

^Mid range frequency and slopes on both ends

^Tweeter frequency and slope

^My T/A based off ear. I did the auto T/A and it was NOT even close to good by any means. This way has spectacular response with my setup.

You wanna do Live in Paris? I have that on DVD and in the car. That was a great performance!

Are you in cm or inches?

I'm trying to digest all this...

Thanks,
I'll get the music and we'll talk,
