They look like they're a 'satin' finish to me. Unpolished, just a step above a machine finish. At least that's what it looks like the photos.

they are painted silver with a clear coat...tpms sensors from steel wheels will tranfer over fine but you will need to replace the seals, this is normal and runs maybe $5-7 per wheel.

Not polished, it's just grey paint. Should'nt get milky at all.

Arrived today while I was at work. Installed when I got back.
Of course it started to rain once I was done putting them on. Look great, and the price was right. Now to get those Toyota center caps to replace those Scion ones... Better pics to come once it's light out and it's not raining...

I'm sure that if wanted to try a more destructive method you could get the Scion caps off, albeit in pieces instead of whole.

My Toyota dealer couldn't locate the part number for the center caps. What they had was $18 per cap!

PT904-52060-CC is what you need to ask for.... I paid $3.84 apiece.

Holy shit, you guys are getting ripped off! you can walk into any scion dealer and buy those over the counter for $200 brand new, with nuts.
I bought a set last winter to throw snow tires on for the wife's 08 hatch

Now we add tires, for say $75 a piece... that's $300 for the tires. Add in mounting and balancing, which is maybe $15 a tire... that's $60. Now we're at $560 for the whole set. Add in tax (7.75% in NY I think that paying $625 to have them mounted, balanced and dropped off in my garage by UPS isn't too bad a deal.

Thanks for the heads up!! After reading this thread, I did a little surfing and checked out some local dealerships' website. Found a set for $199 at Cabe Toyota in Long Beach and drove down there and had them mount my current tires (my 2011 tires only have 700 miles on them) on the wheels. Total cost was $305 including Toyota caps, tax, and mounting.
I was a little disappointed because I was hoping the wheels would be Enkeis. They are cast with Made in Taiwan but they do have Toyota cast in them as well. The boxes were also printed Toyota Genuine Parts so I am not worried about the quality, so far (although we can't forget about the gas pedals that were suppose to be made to "Toyota specs"). I was looking for alloys and was about to get some Enkeis later after my tires were worn but this deal was too good to pass up. Anyway, it may just be psychological but my car seems to ride a little better than before. |
