I took one of the new filters over to my Toyota mechanic buddy and he said he would have no problem putting these in his customers cars. He does side jobs when he's not working at the Toyota dealership. He noted that they are "directional" (I missed that!). Stamped on one end is a note about air flow direction. Just make sure you are putting them in the right way.
