This one looks nice and looks like it would work well. Also the C-clamp idea recommended above... I suppose I could use one with big shoes on it and get it to turn.

Thanks for the help everybody. These suggestions are definitely better than what I found by googling.

On a side note I'm overjoyed at the fact that I got 39.5 mpg on my last tank, with about 90% highway driving at 65 mph and 10% city driving. Air conditioner on about 60 % of the time. What a car!

The strap wrench type shown in Ace and YarisLover09's posts is the best multi-fit filter wrench I've tried, and I've tried them all. They fit every filter I have ever seen (including a huge Nissan CD17 diesel filter) and work great.

I tried a strap wrench, there's no room down there to move it around. That filter is in real close to the engine. Get a die cast cap style unit in 64mm. The cheap stamped metal ones will hop while you turn them.
