so bad news for me the orginal bolts to the exhaust r rusted on and lack of tools screws me again...i believe the bolt head is 13mm because 14mm is too big but its so rusty i cant fit a 13mm on it. i wish the midpipe came with new bolts...sad face. ne input would b helpful at this point to getting the rust-welded bolts off.

I believe that they are M10x1.5. If you buy stainless, make sure they are grade 8.

i literally just installed my midpipe yesterday from garm, exact same exhaust setup as you...
1. i used 3/8x1.25 bolt with 2 3/8 washers each 2 locking washers and 2 nylon lock nuts for the middle part where the midpipe seperates...other than than i used the oem exhaust springs 2. it was slightly off and the front part of the midpipe didnt quite fit over the gasket so i left the front gasket off to bolt it up to my turbo's downpipe 3. i still get popping but its on purpose...when you hit high rpm's and shift and immediately get back on it...it WILL pop and gurgle...if youre driving conservatively it shouldnt gurgle or pop ever |

ok got the nitton mid pipe on had a lot of problems because of the rusty bolts so had to make my own bolt spring set-up. got a new crush gasket from manifold to midpipe, used paper gasket to join the two midpipe sections....and got a crush gasket for the mid pipe to axle back but that gasket was way to large for the axleback inlet. so heres my question does anybody know the inlet dimensions for the dc sport exhaust or the correct size crush gasket for that application thanks

My bolts are all rusty too, easiest way to knock the rust loose is any product like PB Blaster or such and spray them and let them sit a few and spray again, tapp lightly with hammer, spray more, start car once or twice to heat and that draws the blaster through a bit as the bolts swell and shrink.....
I got my install coming up this weekend and am excited.....also on the o2 sensor we found using nickel anti sieze on the threads helps in the future to get back out again, little goes a long way. Most times picking up a few differant lengths of bolts and washers and nuts and such helps,I have gotten awy not using the springs a few times, but they are there to remove stress or something on the bolt and pipe and such,it has a function,I just dont know how to explaine it. |
