like jbougie in the link you posted above
JBougie's is black chrome tint paint which is still reflective to a degree. Painting even the curve a flat black isn't recommended, as that curve is still part of the reflective bowl of the headlight, and you will lose or change some characteristics of the illumiation properties.

Thanks for the input. So you think a flat black around the top and reflective. around curves?

Yeah, I knew not everyone would be a fan of this, but I have always liked the look. i valet a lot of cars that have them, love it. But I would rather it be inside the housing.

That would work fine. I don't mind painted housings, I just didn't want you to paint something you shouldn't and then wonder why you can't see at night anymore. I agree that the painted housings look better than the all chrome ones.

agreed, i currently have nite shades over my headlights and hate it. too dark. so i have an extra set i need to start cooking. will stay away from reflective spots.

soooo, lucky me.... i was on my lunch break and noticed i was getting an odd light from my left headlight. i check it out and notice my headlight is full of smoke. my HID keeps wiggling itself free. not sure how. and it is burning the rubber boot holding it in place. so tonight i decided to rush the headlight painting job. i just got done baking them (freakin midnight, wife just fell asleep) and will paint and hopefully reback and install these spare headlights. will prob try to put the led strip inside the light this time and see what happens

suggestions on where to put LED inside the headlight? just on bottom? just on top? how it is now?

and i figure a flat black for plastics will work? i have a high heat spray bottle of flat black that i used on my muffler, but not sure if i should use it on headlight

thanks for all help

done baked the headlights and have sprayed everything but the inner reflectors in flat black. soon i will put them back together and put on car. still don't know where to put the LEDs.

I also did the black vinyl bumper between the grills thing. that was the number one mod i originally wanted. love it. i will have pictures soon.

I've had an idea of using led strips like what done and use them as DRLs

that would be a pretty good idea. i redid my spare headlights and didn't add the LED strips back on. but as a drl, that would be cool. make sure they are bright enough. mine you wouldn't have been able to see til dusk.
