FYI cam gear
I went and changed my serp belt and just by doing that re screwed up the cam gear set up again. It cost me 500$ to fix it 6 months ago.
If you have an 07 and you have trouble with code p00011 or p00012 dont believe the dealer if he tells you you have to replace the cam gear. You DO have to take it out and re install it properly and will need an air hose and small point nozzle to set a pin properly but you can fix it and the whole fix can be had from under the valve cover. You Dont need to take any other stuff off. The instructions are available on the web or on the service bulletin for the 07 cam gear problem. Dont know if other years are bad too. I havent fixed mine this time.... I think the Yaris is heading for the junk yard. Tired of this tin can with 230K on it. |
