Looking for a windshield repair shop
Hey what's up everyone? Haven't been on here for a while. Hope those of you I remember are still alive lol.
Yeah anyways, I hit a flying rock on the freeway over the weekend. The spider crack is pretty is about the size of a sheet of paper, but well-contained within the lamination of the glass and not growing (for now at least). I can't even feel it on either side. I'm looking for a shop anywhere in the San Gabriel Valley that can replace it for under $200 while still using the same quality glass (or better). Any recommendations?

Definitely not in the SGV, but if you can make the trip to the OC these guys do some good work.

Bit of a drive, but decently priced. Will consider it when I find the time. Thanks for the link!

Are you fully insured? Try checking with your insurance company first, I've heard that windshields are covered by certain name brand insurance companies.

I have full coverage that covers everything above $500 in damages. Price ranges I looked at range from $150 to $250. The crack hasn't grown at all by some miracle, so there's no big rush to fix it. Just collecting info for now.

I called about it the day after it happened and they said that it's included within my comp coverage, minus the $500 deductible. I guess they're not fans of small claims lol.

Try it the other way around. Call a couple of the windshield replacement places, maybe there's some work around.

@rning: That's a good idea. There might be one around here who'll talk to my insurance.
@KL: I've had Safelite come to me before and they're awesome, but always a little too expensive. They quoted me at $250 lol.
