low ball the price of the car, take off 2-3 grand, won't matter. If they say no, take your money back. Also you may want to get a lawyer, since they kept your vehicle, can't your charge them rent? As they are the ones that broke the contract.

Hello,

I need some advice. This is my situation:

The first week of November I went to a Toyota Dealership and put 500 dollars down for a Toyota Yaris Liftback with the Power Package with alloy wheels and abs brakes. The dealership valued my trade in at 1000 dollars.

With my trade in and my deposit the total of the car out the door was going to be 14,097.

I was told that it would take 12 to 16 weeks for the car to arrive. During the waiting period i was contacted and told that my car had arrived. then i was told it was not my car because it did not have abs brakes. During the waiting period I barely got a call from anyone on an update. I constantly called the dealership.

Pass forward to last week, over 4 months later and the car is set to arrive. When I called the dealership to verify that the car was for me I was told that it was. I mentioned on the call that the car did not say it had abs brakes in the inventory.

So I told them what are you going to do now. They gave me three options:

1. Get my money back.
2. Wait three more months (Yeah right, mind you my trade in has been at the dealership all this time.)
3. or buy another car a Scion Xa <- his idea. I said hell fucking no. I could had bought an xa 5 months ago. I hate the xa.

I really want a yaris and as much as i don't like the sedan I said i was willing to buy one if they could come close to the 14,097 price that I was given from before. I was told that they would check on that.

I finally got a quote on a sedan with the options i wanted on the liftback for 15,474 out the door that is including trade in and deposit. They said they were willing to go down a couple of hundred dollars. Fine, i dont have that in writing so i wont believe it to I see it.

Now my question is, what would you do?

My issue is this, I am planning to pay cash for my car, not only I was mislead all this time, but now I feel that I shouldn't give my hard earned cash to these people. They expect me to pay 1,000 extra for a car i didnt want in the first place and i could had bought 5 months ago. This was their mess up not mine, i stuck to the deal damn it.

FYI- This all because of abs brakes.

Escalate your issues to the Owner of the dealership, sales manager, AND the Toyota Regional Office....the dealerships is manned by incompetent idiots....demand that the regional office expedite your order ASAP! Did they give you any paperwork detailing the options you ordered? Escalate this to the powers at regional...the dealerships suck...ALL OF THEM....I purchased 2 2007 LB's, one for me and one for my daughter, and during both transactions, the sales people lied to us about EVERYTHING....

The pricing is a package, yes, you are right, but if you go to Toyota's site, the Performance Package and the Convenience Package are in stone....what you did was add the ABS to your order, and you got one price.

Toyota changed the package recently and took out the word antilock brakes from the power package with alloy wheels for the liftback. I have the brochure from when I put my order. It states its for the liftback, the site also stated it at the time. The new brochure does not have it anymore, neither the site.

Not only did the site have it, the brochure had it, but also the inventory had it. I have the copy of the inventroy sheet they printed out to give me the price for the car from the toyota site.

Not to be mistaken with the sedan power package with alloy wheels.

Actually if you look up any of the reviews for the yaris you will see where they mention the power package for the liftback with antilock brakes.

This is from this site: http://www.nctd.com/review-intro.cfm...&ReviewID=1891

The Power Package for the liftback contains anti-lock brakes, power locks/windows/mirrors, 60/40 slide/recline/fold multi-function rear seat. Options which can be ordered along with this package include anti-lock brakes, 15-inch alloy wheels, a rear spoiler, fog lamps and remote keyless entry. The sedan's Power Package includes anti-lock brakes, power locks/windows/mirrors, cruise control, unique interior trim and a tachometer (this also requires the Convenience Package). Additional options include 15-inch alloy wheels, a rear spoiler, fog lamps, remote keyless entry and an engine immobilizer.

Edmunds review:http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...ticleId=108501

The Liftback comes in just one base trim level which has air conditioning, tilt steering wheel and intermittent wipers. The Convenience Package adds AM/FM/CD with MP3 jack, rear defroster and 15-inch wheels while the Performance Package adds ABS, power windows/locks/mirrors and a 60/40-split-folding rear seat that also reclines and slides fore and aft to optimize passenger or cargo room.

Either way if the way if the dealership forgot to put the abs brakes on my order than that would even give me a bigger reason to be upset. Not my mistake, shouldn't they fix the problem. That is the topic of discussion.

go somewhere else, there has to be several dealers in your area, chat them up online first if you want, ask for bottom line prices before you go in, if the deal doesn't sound good or they begin lie about anything, just leave, you will get a good or at least decent/fair deal on the car you want if you take the tme to find the better dealship, I say lead thee guys on and f@ck with them since they have done that to you, however have no real intentions of doing business with them

This morning I will be picking my brand new Yaris 2007 Barcelona Red Sedan with power package and antilock brakes. The dealership sold it for a better price and is giving me 10 free tanks of gas for the year and free carpet mats. So I am not as angry as before.
