carmakers are only going to bother with subcompact sedans for so long. |

Actually, they have the Honda City. It is a Fit based sedan and sells quite well here.

I like the look of the Honda city. I'd stay Toyota tho even if it was offered.

nissan learned it with the versa , for which the hatchback outsold the sedan by a huge margin. their versa sedan fills one role right now...it allows them to advertise the cheapest car in america. when the new hatch comes, id guess nobody will care for the sedan. the yaris sales trended away from the sedan to the hatch over the last few years. |

Fortunately, the world consists of more than N. America.

Lots of sedans in my part of the world. Hope they (and it looks like they will) keep selling them here.

Just received my new configuration for the Yaris and they let me configure a 4 dr sedan. So guess they are selling them here. HB starts at $13,990 CAD and the sedan at $14,990 CAD. Have to walk up to the dealership and have a look.

I don't mind that. As long as they don't change the body style my 2007 doesn't look old.

the cheaper variants here have the frugal 1.3L 2NZFE (although they have trim levels as the 1.5L ones, but not vice versa--they give the best in the city driving/stop and go traffic than any other car made by any manufacturer in the recent years (except the 1st gen sedans/echo based), which cost around a good $1500ish less than the 1.5L 1NZFE engines. i got this sedan because of the small engine, so if there was a 1.0L available here, i wouldve gotten that instead. it doesnt make sense to get a small car for pure city commute and a big engine, unless you want to race it or something. |

Car looks good, you VIOS guys are lucky. Toyota seems to be all over the place again. So they make this shape for you guys, keep the Axio for themselves and the rest of the world still awaits the new Corolla.

oh the new corolla is definitely way better in terms of looks. but the thing with most of the areas of the world now, the 1.6L up cars are like the previous 2.0L cars of the 90s. they are like the accords and galants who have less share in the market--thus in a few years get a relatively faster depreciation rate when sold used. |
