Has anyone tried restore on their old cars?
NOT YARIS BUT...
OK! MY COROLLA HAS 75K miles on it... and I want to do a full oil sevicing... Uhh... I'm gonna clean flush the oil, drop the pan and clean it "thoroughly" put it back on and put some Mobil1 oil and filter plus my buddy told me "but he drives a TransAM so I'm not sure." to add RESTORE to stabilize the oil and make it last longer also to clean the remaining acids in the crankcase... MY QUESTION IS... Do I need to buy a new gasket for the pan and a new "O" ring to complete the job? or is it OK just to keep the old stuff there? thanks and also about that RESTORE thing does it really help?, coz he went to the store with me and told me to buy it so just wanna make sure if it will help a bit.

Buy a new gasket. It'll be cheaper than springing a leak in the old one thus draining all oil in your engine and killing it.

Why such an endeavor for a Toyota with so little milage? 75,000 miles is little for such a fine car....why does it need such cleaning up?

Is the gasket on it bad? Why are you wanting to do this?? Your corolla is only 4 years old.
I have a 1995 corolla with only 187,000 miles on it, I've been running synthetic in it the entire time I've owned it (since about 100k). I've only had to do routine maintenance (flush radiator fluid, replace plugs and wires, easy stuff and only because I wanted to). Nothing major has ever gone wrong with it. EVER. If you want a car that requires tinkering get a Pontiac like your friend. |
