Why does it cause cooling issues?

Thanks mate. I've been told this a few times. Any reasoning behind it. I've been told it stops effective cooling to the block...

two reason:
1) they can cause hot spots and overheating 2) there is no proof stock sleeves can hold more power and torque with a block guard than without it ==>> completely useless (this from the honda b16 world wich have weaker sleeve design). the block guard has a little space bettwen itself and the sleeve. it does not hold the sleeve. what power/ torque level are you aiming for?
