airbag light clockspring replacement issue
We have a '07 Yaris sedan, auto with power windows, locks etc
at 126K got the airbag light so after reading forum posts purchased a clockspring from ebay for $35 http://www.ebay.com/itm/84306-0K051-...37f071&vxp=mtr the electrical imputs for this clockspring are very different from our so we will have to send this one back. besides the white horn connector ours has 2 (orange and black) plugs that connect to the airbag. The 4 wires originating from the clockspring all come from the same connector as seen in the attached pics. The type I bought from eBay has only an single orange 2 wire plug coming from the clockspring even though it says its for a Yaris. I should have taken the airbag loose and looked at it before purchasing it, not realizing there were different kinds of clocksprings. Has anyone else run into this problem? Saw no easy way of modifying the one I have to make it work... |

Clockspring is part of the last recall issued. Check with your dealership on when they will be able to address it for you.

Agreed with the above, but that is interesting. The single squib (i.e. one stage airbag) spiral cable would not be for a US Yaris. Did the seller post a theoretical Toyota part number?

OK. That part number is only for non-US market Yaris. I'm glad to hear that the seller did the right thing.

Dealership made appt to change it out under recall, but not till Oct 13th.
So that Clockspring is of no use to anyone in the US? If anyone can use that one just let me know... |
